Job Description:
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead with safety first.

- Troubleshooting hardware and other IT equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues for copper, fiber and wireless devices in the workplace or out in the field.
- Secure computer networks by performing periodic upgrades to systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, escalating to engineering when information is missing or not clearly defined.
- Conduct performance checks for newly installed hardware or devices.
- Coordinating with developers, testers, engineers, IT managers and other IT staff to resolve technical issues.
- Maintaining hardware and software inventory.
- Able to plan, prioritize, and manage their time and resources efficiently.
- Assists senior technicians in work duties.
- Maintains power systems used in field to provide reliable power to critical device infrastructure.
- Assists in on-call rotation.
- Operational Maintenance and Support of RDN and Serial Based Communications Equipment, Supports
- Substations, Pole Tops, Reclosers, Loop Schemes, and other Smart Grid Devices.
- Installation, Maintenance, and Operational Support of all Cisco Routers and switches at all Locations, Including Data Center, ADC, Power Plants, Service Centers, Substations, Call Centers
- Installation, Maintenance, and Operational Support of all communication equipment for 4.8Kv, Delta Ground, ESOC, PTDs, ADMS, SCADA Communications
- Assist with New Badge Readers, NERC CIP Telecom Rooms, PACS and Security system communication Installation
- Installation, Maintenance, and Operational Support of all communication equipment and hardware for 600+ Substations. Includes Substation communications, RTU Upgrades, Emergency Phones
- Perform Teams Walkdowns and verification of inventory. Assist with cutover for Teams Migrations.
- Provide Maintenance and Operational support for Avaya PBX, Audix, Substation Phones, Physical Phone Moves, ads, changes. Technology continues to retire with Cisco VOIP and Teams except Call Centers.
- Monitoring, and Operational Support of 300+ Substation ACE Alarms ****ACE Alarms are being replaced with newer / smart RTUs.
- Support on the testing and troubleshooting of Fiber optics technology with the use of OTDR, visible light communication (VLC), Power meeter and cleaning kits
- Installation and Operational Support of Ciena Equipment to support DTE private fiber ring.
- Configuration, Installation, and Maintenance of all WiMAX equipment including Communications Towers, Xig Poles, and Mesh Gateways
- Configuration, Installation, and Maintenance of all Tropos Wireless Mesh devices. Supports AMI, Pole Tops, Smart Grid Communications
- Configuration, Installation, and Maintenance of LTE Cellular Digi Gateways
- Configuration, Installation, Maintenance, and Operational Support of all DTE Microwave Systems
- Installation and Operational support for all high-speed WAN links at all sites including afterhours support for critical sites
- Installation, Maintenance, and Operational Support for all Network Related UPS, Rectifiers, Chargers, DC converters, Generators, and Battery Backup Systems at Tower Sites and remote Phone Rooms.
- Installation and Operational Support for all Cisco 802.11 Wireless Access Points
- Provide Installation and Operational support for all Network Projects and Hardware at DDC and ADC include copper and fiber cabling/patch/diagnosis.
- Provide Installation, Maintenance, and Operational support for all FCN related communications equipment. Includes AMI Mesh, Wimax, Microwave, Tropos, FCN Routers Switches and related Infrastructure
- Provide Installation, Maintenance, and Operational support for MOC, and all Subsidiaries including out state support in Texas, San Francisco, and Ohio as needed
- Provide Installation, Maintenance, and Operational support for all Fermi related communications equipment, and phones for Security, Refuel, RERP, JIC, and Daily Operational Support
- Installation, Maintenance, and Operational Support for Load Management stations (6 Sites), Load Management is moving from Radio based system to AMI Based System
- Support network connectivity to the Avtec Outposts - The Avtec Consoles are supported DO Technical Team
- Perform routine maintenance tests on Batteries, Generators, Rectifiers, and all Communications equipment at all sites to ensure system availability / stability
- Support Wind Park Installations, troubleshooting of network devices and firewalls that support the infrastructure (including non-DTE network assets).
- Assist in Equipment Ordering, Receiving, Inventory, Payment Processing, Storage, and Staging of Network related hardware for all non-trailing OM hardware for projects and operational support
- Maintain access requirements for Fermi including qualification testing and monthly observation.
- Maintain annual qualified electrical worker, arial work platform, substation training, PPO 77, fall protection, harness inspection and hazard awareness certifications.
- Provide lawn care, pest control, snow removal and Facility Maintenance for Network Communication
- Towers and adjacent communication facilities.
